These lights do not appear as pretty little trees from more than 2 feet away. The plastic is very clear, and the lights just show up as only a pinpoint, not a tree, of light. So as a seasonal yard decoration, it doesn't work.I will try scuffing the outside of the plastic trees with some steel wool or fine sandpaper to see if the rougher surface will diffuse the light correctly as it shines through the plastic, and allow the tree shape to be delineated as intended. They should have used a plastic that would diffuse the light to shine through as a tree shape, not a a single clear pinpoint. I doubt if scuffing that will work, but if it does, I will write a followup review.These candy cane lights are a good size and are easy to setup but do not expect long lasting light. I have 2 sets that charge in NE winter sun (6-8 hours) . They are not very bright but I think they are acceptable. My biggest complaint is the quality of the rechargeable batteries (and maybe solar panel) that do not seem to allow for a charge that will last long time. I would like to have a light that stays ON continuous (not flashing) for several hours (at least 4-5). It would be better to have better rechargeable batteries and maybe a better solar panel. I realize this may push the price a bit but I think it would be a worthwhile improvement.These are really cute, but they definitely don’t hold their charge. And forget about it on a cloudy day. The first day I had them up, they held their charge all night long. Since then there are nights they don’t even come on and when they do it’s for an hour or soThey work and were easy to assemble, but are not very bright and being solar are pretty inconsistent here in Michigan. If I had to do it over again I would find a wired version... maybe with red and white lights. Not much to these in the dark.These lights are very nice but they don’t light up all the time. Maybe because they are solar and don’t always get a lot of light.Wish was a bit taller but looks nice in the yardDidn’t stay on long , used it both ways flashing and steady , would not stay on longThey did light up but the stakes fell off easily
